Scope and Contents Boards in front of the Soldiers' Monument by the Public Library, bearing the names of Brookline men and women currently serving in the armed forces during World War II. The boards were erected by the town, designed by the town Engineering Department, and dedicated on Armistice Day (Nov. 11), 1942. Three boards were installed initially, each with the capacity to display 1,800 names; a fourth board was added at a later date. 3,154 names populated the boards at their unveililing in 1942...
