Scope and Contents

Billy Ward Playground, formerly Brook Street Playground, and former site of the Aspinwall House, 88 Aspinwall Ave. The house's foundation is still present on site. The land was acquired by the town of Brookline in 1914 from William and Thomas Aspinwall; adjacent lots were acquired in 1972 to expand the park. A 1992 rennovation changed the named to the Billy Ward Playground. The steeple of St. Paul's Episcopal is visible above the treeline.
